Nativa™ Certification

NATIVA™ Certification, developed by Chargeurs Luxury Materials, is a globally recognized standard for sustainably produced wool, primarily in the textile and fashion industries. It ensures environmental responsibility, animal welfare, and transparency throughout the wool supply chain, supporting brands and consumers in making eco-friendly choices.

NATIVA™ Certification: What and Why?

NATIVA™ certification covers three key areas: environmental sustainability, animal welfare, and supply chain transparency. Together, these standards encourage a responsible wool industry and support consumer demand for ethical, sustainable products.

For the animals

The guidelines require each farm to follow a comprehensive animal welfare plan, covering feeding, breeding, handling, and health. This ensures humane practices, banning harmful practices like mulesing and guaranteeing animals have proper care.

For the environment

NATIVA™-certified farms prioritize sustainable land management to preserve the environment. Facilities throughout the supply chain work to reduce or eliminate their environmental impact through for example regenerative practices and managing soil health.

For the workers

Aligned with the United Nations Global Compact, NATIVA supports socio-economic welfare for farmers and communities. This commitment upholds principles of human rights, fair labor, environmental care, and anti-corruption across all levels of the industry.

Certification Process

The NATIVA™ certification process includes thorough evaluations and regular audits across the wool supply chain. Each product is tracked from farm to finished item via a digital platform, ensuring full transparency. This traceability lets brands showcase responsible sourcing and allows consumers to view the journey of their purchase, building trust and making sustainable choices easier.
